September 2006 - Two of Shannon Eckstein's images from Operation Rainbow Canada in Jalandhar have been selected by the IWDA "International Women's Development Agency" for a photography exhibition that will help raise money for women in developing countries all over the world .... Shannon is incredibly excited since here images were chosen from a short list of over 600.

Nominated in the prestigious 2004 Spider Awards, Vancouver's photographic adventurer Shannon Eckstein has decided her new home base will be Toronto.
Toronto, June 2006 - Eckstein's work has taken her all over the world from South East Asia to the South Pacific, Australia, USA, Europe, the Caribbean and India.
The world renowned M.I.L.K. collection chose two of Eckstein's images, out of 40,000 entries, for publication and an international traveling exhibition. In 2004 Eckstein was nominated for a Spider Award for her image of a laughing 103 yr old woman. Last year she traveled with Operation Rainbow Canada to India where she used her skills to document a medical mission.

Fundraiser seeks contributions to repair deformities in Third World.

Shannon recently teamed up with Dr. Kimit Rai and Operation rainbow in which doctors donate their time and material to work in third world countries such as India. Shannon Eckstein accompanied Dr. Rai to Northern India and documented his surgery work with children who are born with birth defects.
